You might be asking yourself...

What is this Internship, really?

This is your chance to give three months fully to God—to seek Him, dive deeper into His Word, learn new job skills, grow in community, serve in the ministry of AIMS, and prepare to minister on an international trip. But more than all that, it’s a set-apart season to seek the face of Jesus and be transformed in His presence.

What's the outcome?

By the end of the internship, you might not leave with a job at AIMS or a church, but our prayer is that you’ll clearly know the next steps God has for your life.

You’ll be:

  • More grounded in God's Word

  • More effective at ministering God's presence through the power of the Holy Spirit

  • Equipped to serve in ministry or in the marketplace, wherever God leads

And AIMS will have gained help in growing this ministry and advancing God’s Kingdom.

Who is this for?

Young adults ages 18–26 with a heart for God, including high school graduates, college students, or gap-year participants, who have a free summer and desire to grow spiritually, gain hands-on ministry experience, and walk in obedience to the Great Commission.

Where will I be living and serving?

The internship is based at the AIMS Headquarters in Colorado Springs. 10 weeks will be spent here, with a 2-week international trip at the end.

Wait, there's an international trip?

Yes. AIMS has four global offices, and interns will go on an international mission trip to one of those locations to serve alongside the international AIMS staff.

Where will the trip be?

The exact location has not been decided yet, but it will be at one of AIMS’ international offices in West Africa, East Africa, or South Asia.

Do I need a passport before applying?

You do not need a passport to apply, but if you are accepted, you will need to obtain one before the internship starts on May 26.

What will my weeks actually look like?

Weekdays include a part-time job of 4 hours, ministry assignments of 3 to 4 hours with AIMS or a local church, and evening classes Monday through Thursday for 2 to 3 hours. Weekends include community activities, rest, and a Sunday church assignment.

Can I work or take classes during the internship?

Because this is a full-time commitment, outside jobs or classes are usually not recommended.

Do I need missions experience to apply?

Not at all. You just need a teachable heart, willingness to learn, and a desire to grow.

What kind of training will I get?

You will receive training in missions, evangelism, discipleship, cultural awareness, leadership, and personal spiritual growth, in addition to the skills you will develop at your assigned part-time job in a kingdom business.

Is this internship paid?

This internship is unpaid, but you will gain hands-on missions experience, mentorship, training, and cross-cultural exposure.

Is housing included?

Yes. Housing is provided in gender-specific intern homes near AIMS Headquarters. Rent is covered in the $1,500 Program Fee.

How much does the internship cost?

The program fee is $1,500, which covers all of your rent, supplies, books, and program costs. Additional expenses such as food, gas, and personal needs will be paid by the intern through income earned in their part-time job. A full breakdown will be shared once you are accepted.

Do I have to fundraise?

Very little, if any. This internship is designed for interns to earn finances for living costs and the international trip through the part-time job.

How do I apply?

Applications are submitted online through our internship application page.

What guidelines and boundaries are in place for interns?

To create a safe, focused, and spiritually healthy environment, interns agree to live within clear boundaries and accountability throughout the internship.

  • Substances: Alcohol and drug use are not permitted during the internship.

  • Dating: Interns are asked not to begin new dating relationships during the 12-week program so they can fully focus on spiritual growth, ministry, and community life. Those already in a relationship are welcome to participate with appropriate boundaries.

  • Media & Technology: Media consumption and device screen time are limited to encourage healthy focus.

  • Curfew: Interns follow a nightly curfew.

  • Accountability: Interns meet regularly with mentors for spiritual and practical encouragement.

  • Financial stewardship: Interns are encouraged to manage personal finances responsibly and with integrity.

What should I bring with me?

You’ll need twin bedding, towels, a carry-on for your international trip, a laptop, and personal essentials. A personal vehicle is recommended. You’ll be staying in a furnished intern house, so no need to bring furniture. A complete packing list will be sent before the internship starts.
